Hand made from sterling silver and upcycled pool balls. 
Material: Sterling silver contains copper. It will tarnish to black over time. Contact with chemicals such as perfumes or chlorine can accelerate this process. It is not recommended that these items are worn in water. Sterling silver can be brought back to its original shine with an inexpensive sunshine cloth. Pool balls are upcycled and consequently imperfect in nature.

PROCESS

Fine silver wire is formed around the pool ball cabochon before being cut to length and soldered shut. This is then soldered on to a sterling silver backplate. Sterling silver scrap is melted into a ball before being repeatedly pressed into an impression die with a hydraulic press, this is then cut out by hand with a jewellers saw and then soldered onto the backplate along with beaded wire which has been hammered flat. The pendant is cut out using a jewellers saw. A jump ring is then soldered on to the back. Chain is cut to length and an o-ring and toggle are attached to either end with jump rings before being soldered closed. The pendant is sanded and polished using various grits and compounds before being attached to the chain with an open jump ring. An open jump ring is used so that the chain might be used for other pendants in the future and to insure that in the case of accidental pulling the pendant releases rather than the bail being damaged. The finished item is then sent to the London Assay Office for a full hallmark,

Hendrix and Rogue is an independent jewellery brand run by me, Christy from my home in Surrey. The name comes from the names of my two children (my creativity has limitations.) When the boys were born I had to find a way to work around being a single mum. I left my prison psychology job of a decade and taught myself how to smith watching youtube videos. I have built myself a workshop and my aim is to be learning and challenging myself constantly. I wont make anything I wouldn't wear myself and I'm always open to custom ideas.
