Hand made from sterling silver and onyx.
Material: Sterling silver. I do not recommend that this item is worn in water or exposed to chemicals such as perfumes, lotions and cleaning products. Sterling silver will oxidise (blacken) over time, the pendant can be polished with an inexpensive sunshine cloth. However, over-polishing may alter the finished look of the piece. Sterling silver contains copper, it may cause green marks on the skin in people with a particular body chemistry. This is a harmless reaction.

PROCESS
Silver wire is formed around the moon stone before being cut to length and soldered shut. Silver scrap is heated until it forms a ball and then pressed into a steel impression die with the use of a hydraulic press. The resultant impressions (pumkin, each hand, each leaf) are cut out using a jewellers saw. All of the pieces are soldered onto a silver backplate with the use of a blowtorch. The resultant piece is cut out using a saw. A silver jump ring is fed through the loop before being soldered shut. The pendant is sanded, patinated and polished before the stone is set.
Hallmarking:
Any item of sterling silver which weighs over 7.78g that is sold as ‘silver’ must be sent for authentication hallmarking at a UK Assay office. This also applies to imported items. I am registered with the Guild of Jewellery Designers and The London Assay Office. As this item weighs less that 7.78g no hallmark is required. If you wish to commission a larger pendant, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Hendrix and Rogue is an independent jewellery brand run by me, Christy from my home in Surrey. The name comes from the names of my two children (my creativity has limitations.) When the boys were born I had to find a way to work around being a single mum. I left my prison psychology job of a decade and taught myself how to smith watching youtube videos. I have built myself a workshop and my aim is to be learning and challenging myself constantly. I wont make anything I wouldn't wear myself and I'm always open to custom ideas.
