Hand forged from silver sheet and wire. 
Material: Sterling silver. I do not recommend that this item is worn in water or exposed to chemicals such as perfumes, lotions and cleaning products. Sterling silver will oxidise (blacken) over time, it can be polished with an inexpensive sunshine cloth. However, over-polishing may alter the finished look of the piece.

PROCESS
Silver wire is formed around the bone carving and soldered closed, The wire bezel is then soldered on to the sheet backplate before the excess is removed with a jewellers saw and a cactus motif is cut out, A jump ring is formed on a mandrel from silver wire and soldered on to the rear of the pendant. A bail is made from sheet by hand sawing a diamond shape and folding in half. Barleycorn chain is cut to length and jump rings and bolt rings are soldered onto the ends to provide a secure fastening. After sanding, polishing and patinating the finished pendant is attached to the chain. The completed necklace is sent to the London Assay office for official hallmarking as per legal requirement,
